JESSICA RICHTER BLYTHE is the vessel of Pestilence, the Horseman. She is responsible for the tragic passing of two dozen of the world's warmongers, fundamentalists, and ultra-rich to right the balance between life and death, with more to come. Everything she is is in service of this balance. She is the endurance predator.
- Fiercely dedicated to her beliefs. Unshakable faith in the idea of a better world through direct action.
- Distant without being cruel. Holds herself at arm's length from most people so she can better observe and learn. Often withdrawn as she thinks through her words. Prefers talking through text.
- Can cause devastating infection with a touch. Rots tissue, multiplies cells, chokes oxygen. Pestilence requires her consent before the disease is allowed to flow.
- No longer fully human. Pestilence has merged completely with her physical form, nestling into every fiber of her body, every crevice of her brain. Jessica is chronically ill and often has a bloody cough, but Pestilence refuses to let Her vessel deteriorate to uselessness and is keeping her alive as long as possible. (Don't look at her body running zigzag with scars. She's performed surgery on herself too many times.)
- Every thought within her mind is accessible to Pestilence, and the Horseman Herself also has complete control over the chemical pathways in Jessica's body, should She choose to exert it. The emotions that Jessica feels cannot be trusted as her own.
- Jessica feels as though she owes too much of her life to Pestilence. Though she may occasionally try her luck, in the end, any decision that she makes will be the one that pleases Pestilence. She cannot bear sustaining any sort of imperfection that may make her Lady leave her.
